I don’t know about y’all, but man oh man is the writer’s block in full force these days. I’m not exactly sure what the culprit is, but I’m willing to bet that our family’s hectic schedule is somewhat to blame. End of the year school projects and tutoring sessions, preschool spring teas and last day picnics, baseball All Star games and playoffs, dance rehearsals and recitals, First Reconciliations and First Communions, birthdays and holidays…the list goes on and on. I think I am more excited about summer break than my kids!
I went back through the blog and looked up my post from this time last year to see if I was in a slump then as well. Interestingly enough, I found that I had written about inspiration and motivation almost exactly one year ago. “Your inspiration and motivation is all around you,” I wrote. “The two may not always come together. You may already have your inspiration, but need your motivation. Or perhaps you are motivated, but need to be inspired. Be still in the chaos of life and allow it to find you.” (Read the full post here.)
Wow. Do I need to take my own advice or what? I need to be still in the chaos that is our life right now. I can’t always wait for our schedule to be less crazy, because life is crazy! Even in the lull of summer, we fill our days with pool time, nature camps, play dates, and vacations.
Are you in a writing slump? Are you waiting for your chaos to subside? Join me. Let’s be still together. And pray for inspiration and motivation!
