One Space or Two?

Is it one space or two after each sentence? As an editor, I can’t begin to express how thankful I am for the “find all, replace all” feature in Microsoft Word simply for this conundrum. A large majority of documents that come across my desk are authored by those who hold strong to the old school double space rule. Hence, I easily and quickly choose to find all the double space instances and replace them with a single space. As my son says, “Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.”

But why eliminate the extra space you ask? You aren’t alone. Our publisher asks the same question over and over! Head over to Robyn’s blog and read all about her love for double spacing and learn more about the history of double versus single spacing Click here to go to her blog now!
